Most of what we will discuss in the rest of this book is a direct extension of the materials that we have already covered in Part One. Yet my past experience has shown me that even those individuals who claim to understand the fundamentals of fuzzy logic and the concept of shades of gray still have trouble extending those ideas into real life. The current social norms and the 2000 year old Aristotelian all-or-nothing mentality are barriers that are just too strong for most Americans to overcome. So I am warning you now that many readers will find it difficult to understand some of the concepts that will be developed, not because the concepts are intrinsically difficult, but simply because those concepts are not "The American Way." I would therefore strongly suggest that you now take the time to go back and reread any sections of Part One that you may be "fuzzy" about. Because if you don't understand them, you will most certainly disagree with just about everything to come.
