The SiMPLE
Program Gallery

Welcome to "The SiMPLE Program Gallery" --- a collection of program listings that have been contributed by SiMPLE users from around the world.

All of the programs contained in The Program Gallery are ready for you to run ... if you have SiMPLE installed on your computer. (If you have not yet downloaded your FREE copy of SiMPLE, click here.)

To run any of the Gallery's programs, all you have to do is transfer the desired program's source listing into your computer, and then "RUN" it (just like you would any SiMPLE program).

How To Transfer A Program's Source Listing

If you're feeling ambitious and have nothing better to do, you could just type the source listing into your computer! However there are a couple of easier ways for you to choose from:

Method A - Copy the Source Listing File Directly Into a Project:

  1. Right-click on the link to the desired program's "Source Listing"
    and select "Save Target As..."

  2. When the "Save As" dialog box appears, just specify the path to the
project. (For example, if you'd like the source listing to go into Project
PLAYPEN, you would Save in: \SIMPLE\PROJECT\DOS\PLAYPEN)

Method B - Use the Windows Clipboard to Copy and Paste:

  1. Highlight the listing by dragging your mouse over it (or by clicking on the word "Edit" in the menu bar of the window, and then choosing "Select All").

  2. Click on the word "Edit" in the menu bar of the window, and select "Copy."

[At this point, it is no longer necessary to remain connected to the internet. If your internet provider allows you only a limited numbers of hours of connect time, you can now close all your browser's windows and log off if you want to.]

  3. Start up SiMPLE, and then "GO" to project into which you want to transfer the listing.

  4. Type the command:  EDITOR  WIN  on the command line. This will set the Window's "Notepad" editor as the default text editor* for SiMPLE.

*[If you later want to reset the default editor back to the original "blue screen" one,
simply type the command:  EDITOR  DOS  on the command line at a later time.]

  5. Use the "OPEN" command to create a new program. (The program name can be anything you like.) When the editor opens, you will notice that the usual "blue screen" is now a "white screen."

  6. Click on the word "Edit" in the menu bar of the window, and then select "Paste."

  7. Click on the word "File" in the menu bar of the window, and then select "Exit"."
