SiMPLE can be run in two different ways:
|
To illustrate SiMPLE's "Drag & Drop" feature, open the "SiMPLE Samples" folder. Inside you will find several text files (each containing a SiMPLE program listing). Just drag and drop any one of those files onto the "Drop SiMPLE Listing Here" icon.
A black window will briefly appear, and then the program will start running.
(To end the program, simply press the 'Esc' key on your keyboard.) Pretty cool, eh?
Tell me more about the "Drag & Drop" mode.
[Note: Command-line mode might not work on some "public" computers
where the administrator has restricted the use of certain features.]
To use SiMPLE in "Command-line" mode, just double-click the "S i M P L E" icon.
A black "SiMPLE" window will soon appear with the colored word "Pro-SiMPLE" at the top. Underneath it, you will see the words "Project: PLAYPEN" above a long horizontal line:

Below the horizontal line and on the left side of the window is a "greater than" symbol (>) with a blinking "underscore" character to its right. The "greater than" character is referred to as the "prompt character" and the blinking underscore character is referred to as the "cursor". The prompt character and the cursor together constitute what is known as the "command line". It is on this command line that you will issue all of your "commands" to SiMPLE.
If you are not already familiar with SiMPLE and how to use it, simply type: HELP on the command line, and it will guide you from there. (Or visit our online community, The SiMPLE CodeWorks Forums, to ask for specific help.)
