New in Version 3.1x of SiMPLE

"Drag & Drop" Capability

After you download/update your copy of SiMPLE, you should see a new icon (named "Drop SiMPLE Listing Here") on your desktop. You should also see a folder there called "SiMPLE Samples".

To illustrate SiMPLE's new "Drag & Drop" capability, open the "SiMPLE Samples" folder. Inside the folder you find several text files (each containing a SiMPLE program listing). Just drag and drop any one of those files onto the "Drop SiMPLE Listing Here" icon on your desktop. A black window will briefly appear, and then the program will start running. (To end the program, simply press the 'Esc' key on your keyboard.) Pretty cool, huh?

The previous version of SiMPLE had a bug in the way it handled special characters in strings (i.e., characters that are preceded by a backslash character). This problem has now been fixed.

The previous version of SiMPLE had a minor bug in the way it reported errors at compile time. (If a source statement extended over two or more lines, the line numbers that were reported for subsequent errors would be incorrect.) This problem has now been fixed.

New Keyword: Append

New in version 3.11 is the introduction of the "Append" keyword, which provides users of the FREE version of SiMPLE with greater flexibility in implementing their own task libraries. (Click here for more information.)
