Some problems in SiMPLE's error-reporting methods were corrected.
Functions Xpixels(), Ypixels(), and Zbits() were added into the Pro-SiMPLE system library to help improve compatibility with Ultra-SiMPLE graphics programs.
A new function, "Universe()", has been added to both system libraries. It allows a program to know in which universe it was compiled.
Several null tasks (including "Sound", "Nosound", etc.) were added into the Ultra-SiMPLE system library to help improve compatibility with Pro-SiMPLE programs. (The "Sound" task, for example, will not generate any sound. But it will at least allow some Pro-SiMPLE programs to compile properly in the Ultra-SiMPLE universe.)
Similarly, several null tasks (including "Cuckoo", "Honk", etc.) were added into the Pro-SiMPLE system library to help improve compatibility with Ultra-SiMPLE programs. (The "Cuckoo" task, for example, will not generate any sound. But it will at least allow some Ultra-SiMPLE programs to compile properly in the Pro-SiMPLE universe.)
All of the "@toys" modules (rocket, explode, etc.) are now globally available to all projects (including programs that are run in "Drag & Drop" mode).
The name of the user's "Drag & Drop" Local Library has been changed from "LOCAL" to "LIBRARY".
The name of the user's "Drag & Drop" Global Library has been changed from "GLOBAL" to "LIBRARY".
All "Drag & Drop" library files must now have a ".txt" extension (instead of ".src").
The "Parse" task has been added to Ultra-SiMPLE's System Library.
The "Fetch The Proper Icons" and "Drop SiMPLE Listing Here" icons did not always work correctly with Windows 95/98/Me. This problem has been fixed.
Lucia Grossberger's "Cosmic Awakening" demo program has been added to the "SiMPLE Samples" folder.
Whenever a "Drag & Drop" program successfully compiles and runs, a copy of its executable file is now stored as "SIMPLE.EXE" in the same location (or folder) as where the source listing is located. (This allows you to easily rerun the program without having to drag and drop its source listing every time.)
The "Keyintext" function has been enhanced.
The "Cntrlc" task has been added to the system library.
SiMPLE works with Windows Vista! (Click here for more info)
An error in SiMPLE's installer program (INSTALL.EXE) was found and corrected. In addition, several other very minor bugs were fixed.
The "S i M P L E" icon now appears as a "toy block" in all versions of Windows (except for Vista). [Until Microsoft gets around to fixing their bugs, Vista still has a problem displaying icons correctly.]
The SiMPAINT program is now accessed via a shortcut (to its new location in SiMPLE's "MISC" folder).
An error in the "Fetch The Proper Icons" program was found and corrected. (On some computers, it would fail to fetch the "Drop SiMPLE Listing Here" icon.)
A new MIDI file ("2001.mid") has been added to SiMPLE's "SOUNDS" folder.
The SiMPAINT program now uses the "V" key to allow Vista users to see their black cursor on the canvas screen.
A new optional shortcut ("SiMPLE-2") is now available. (Click here to read about "SiMPLE-2".)
