Welcome To Mr. Logic's
"Pick-a-Path" Riddle #1
Most
of the traditional online riddles that you may
have previously played were "serial" in nature (i.e., you merely advanced
from one "level" to the next). And if you got to a level that you
couldn't solve, you were simply "dead in the water" at that point.
(Tough luck!
)
One of the advantages of the "Pick-a-Path" concept is that, if you get stuck somewhere, you can just choose a different path to follow and thereby continue playing. Furthermore, it is not a requirement that you solve every puzzle in the game in order to win. You need solve only the relatively small number of puzzles that lie on a path that lets you reach the end of the game.
In this game, you are trapped inside a room in a very strange hotel. Except for Room 99, none of the rooms in the hotel have any doors or windows! Instead, each room is equipped with a teleportation device which will allow you to teleport yourself into one of the nearby rooms (up to four rooms away, but at a fixed distance from your current room).
The object of the game is to reach Room 99.
Your current location in the hotel is indicated by a yellow square. To begin teleporting into another room, just click one of the room numbers that are shown in dark gray squares.

(Each dark gray square will always lie directly North, South, East, or West of the
yellow square, and every dark gray square will be equidistant from the yellow square.)
But before you are allowed to continue teleporting into the room, you will first be required to solve a puzzle/riddle for that room. Once you've figured out the answer, you can finish teleporting into the room by going to:
where:
"room" is the two-digit number of the room you are trying to enter
and
"answer" is the answer that you hope will get you into that room.
As usual, the rules for specifying the answer to each room's puzzle/riddle are very simple:
For example, suppose that the question for accessing the first room (Room: 11) of the game is:
"Who's buried in Grant's tomb?"
In that case, the desired room would be located at:
www.simplecodeworks.com/pick-a-path/11-grant
See? It's as easy as that!
Well... what are you waiting for? Go there now!
And please refrain from posting any puzzle answers
anywhere, even in forums that let you use
"spoiler" tags). Everyone should solve the puzzles on their own. (Otherwise, what's the
point of even playing the game?)

"Mr. Logic" is the producer of many online puzzle games. In the Spring of 2002, he created the concept of the "Online Riddle" when he released his Cybertrek adventure game. Since then, hundreds of other game makers have implemented his "URL-completion" method in the design of their own games (e.g., "This Is Not Pr0n", etc.).
