The Pro-SiMPLE Combo:

Pro-SiMPLE And Ultra-SiMPLE
(The "Full-Featured" Versions of SiMPLE)

Pro-SiMPLE and Ultra-SiMPLE are two separate programming languages that come bundled together as The Pro-SiMPLE Combo. Both languages co-exist in the same "SiMPLE" folder on your hard drive, and you can easily switch from one language to the other at any time.

Pro-SiMPLE

Pro-SiMPLE (the "professional" version of SiMPLE) is merely an extension of what was formerly the "FREE" version of SiMPLE. (Both use exactly the same syntax and exactly the same system library. So all of your old programs will still work exactly the same.) However Pro-SiMPLE provides you with the added capability of being able to create your own externally defined tasks. (The old Free version of SiMPLE would let you specify only internally defined tasks.) With Pro-SiMPLE you therefore have the ability to create your own new task libraries and construction kits, and distribute them to other SiMPLE and Pro-SiMPLE users.

Ultra-SiMPLE

The syntax of Ultra-SiMPLE is also exactly the same as Pro-SiMPLE's. But because of its advanced features, Ultra-SiMPLE requires the use of a separate system library.

The most significant feature of Ultra-SiMPLE is probably its enhanced graphics capabilities. The old Free SiMPLE's graphics screen with its 640 x 480 resolution was ... (uh) ... ok, ... and its 16 colors are certainly better than nothing. But with Ultra-SiMPLE you are able to generate displays with as much resolution as your computer's hardware allows, and in millions of colors if you so choose!

Not only are you able to make more awesome games, but you can also create programs that produce professional-looking graphic displays, manipulate photographic images to produce special effects, etc.

A second significant feature of Ultra-SiMPLE is that it provides access to your computer's multimedia capabilities. (You are no longer limited to producing tiny "beeps" through the computer's built-in speaker.) Your programs can now generate real sounds by playing wave files, midi files, etc. through your computer's sound card. (You can even incorporate movies into your programs!)

And, just as with Pro-SiMPLE, Ultra-SiMPLE provides you with the ability to create and distribute your own task libraries and construction kits.

Some of the other features of Ultra-SiMPLE include:

*(A Sprite is an image that can be placed on top of a back-
ground, and then removed without leaving a "hole.")
