Carry SiMPLE In Your Pocket!
(On A Flash Drive)
Here's a suggestion that we highly
recommend: Instead of installing SiMPLE onto your "C:" hard drive,
install it onto an external Flash Card memory (or Flash
Drive) and run it from there!
There are many good reasons for wanting to use such a "Porta-SiMPLE" unit.
Some of them include:
- SiMPLE will not use up any space on your main hard drive.
- If your main hard drive should ever "crash" or go bad, you
won't loose any of your SiMPLE work.
- Many "public" computers (such as those found in most public libraries and
classrooms) allow only very limited access to the main hard drive, and will
therefore not allow SiMPLE to be installed directly.
- If you are using SiMPLE in a multi-user environment (such as a
classroom), each student in the class can have his own private
"Porta-SiMPLE" unit which is not only completely
protected from corruption by other students, but which
can also be taken home and used there as well.
- If you want to give someone copies of SiMPLE programs that
you've written, just plug your "Porta-SiMPLE" into
their computer and copy the programs over.
- If you ever travel somewhere and you want to use SiMPLE, you
won't need to bring along your entire computer. Just plug
your "Porta-SiMPLE" into someone else's computer,
and you're ready to go. (And you won't even have to install SiMPLE on
their machine.)
- When the time comes for you to buy a new computer, you
won't have to find some way of transferring SiMPLE and all
your work over to the new machine.
Plus, it's just kind of cool to be able to carry the entire SiMPLE
development system and all your programs around in your pocket!
