You pick up the phone and dial your friend's number. It rings a couple of times, and then:

     "Hello?"

"Hey there, Corky! What're you up to?"

     "Not much, at the moment...
      Just playing around on my computer.
      Why?"

"Oh, I just wanted to see if maybe you'd like to get together with me and do something this afternoon."

     "Gee ... I'd like to, but I can't ...
      I've got a dentist appointment in a little while."

"Hmmm, that's too bad."

     "But maybe I'll meet you at the gazebo in the
      City Park later on ... if I'm feeling up to it."

"Ok. Good luck at the dentist, Corky!"

     "Yeah, thanks!"

"Bye..."
