How to Download SiMPLE

The following link will let you download your FREE copy of "The SiMPLE Combo" in a zipped folder named "SiMPLE.zip":

Download My FREE Copy of SiMPLE (Size: Approx. 5MB)

When the "File Download" dialog* box appears, click the "Save" button:

*(The form of dialog boxes may be different on your computer.)

Then, when the "Save As" dialog box appears, save the zipped folder to your desktop:

After the download process is complete, find the "SiMPLE.zip" folder that was just downloaded onto your desktop and unzip it. (As you know, you can not merely double-click the zipped folder and then use its contents. You must first right-click the icon and then select "Extract All...")

(The form of dialog box may be different on your computer.)

This will produce a new  "SiMPLE" folder (one that doesn't have a ".zip" extension on it):

How to Install SiMPLE

(Onto a Hard Drive)

After you have successfully unzipped "SiMPLE.zip" into the new "SiMPLE" folder (the one without the ".zip" extension on it), you can install SiMPLE onto your hard drive by using either  of the following two methods: (A) You can use SiMPLE's "INSTALL" program or, (B) you can manually  install SiMPLE.

Method A: Using the "INSTALL" Program to Install SiMPLE

Inside the unzipped  "SiMPLE" folder you will find an "INSTALL" program.

To install SiMPLE, double-click the "INSTALL" icon. A menu will appear:

Just select the first option ("Install the Pro-SiMPLE Combo"). Then, when prompted, specify the drive that you want SiMPLE to be installed onto.

The installer program will first test your drive and then begin installing SiMPLE. When it is finished, you should see a message informing you that the installation was successful:

[The numbers and names of the files may be different from those shown above.
Also, Vista users may see an unimportant error message. Just ignore it.]

You should see three new icons* on your desktop. (You may need to right-click on the desktop and select "Refresh".)

*On some versions of Windows the icons may look different, but they will
still be named "S i M P L E", "Drop SiMPLE Listing Here", and "SiMPAINT".

[If the three new icons failed to appear, click here for instructions on how to easily retrieve them.]

You should also see a new folder on your desktop called "SiMPLE Samples". [If the "SiMPLE Samples" folder failed to appear (or if the folder is empty), click here for instructions on how to easily retrieve it.]

Method B: Installing SiMPLE Manually

If you prefer to install SiMPLE manually (or if the "INSTALL" program failed), you can just copy the unzipped  "SiMPLE" folder from your desktop directly onto the root directory of your hard drive. Then open the "SiMPLE" folder and find the item labeled "Fetch The Proper Icons":

[The item labeled "Fetch The Proper Icons" may be some other image, de-
pending on the version of Windows that is running on the host computer.]

Next, double-click that "Fetch The Proper Icons" item. A black window (displaying the word "Working . . .") will briefly appear. When the black window closes, you should find three new icons* in the root directory of your hard drive:

*On some versions of Windows the icons may look different, but they will
still be named "S i M P L E", "Drop SiMPLE Listing Here", and "SiMPAINT".

Just copy (or move) these three items to your desktop. [You might also want to copy the "SiMPLE Samples" folder (from inside the "SiMPLE" folder) to your desktop as well.]

Congratulations! You now have SiMPLE installed on your computer!

Windows Vista Users: You must have the UAC (User Account Control) feature turned OFF.

If you want to, you can delete both "SiMPLEs.zip" and the "SiMPLE" folder from your desktop. (They are no longer needed.)

Also, if you think your desktop is starting to become cluttered, feel free to move the three newly installed icons (as well as the
"SiMPLE Samples" folder) to some other location. (For example, you might want to put all of them into a new separate folder
on your desktop.) Since all three icons are merely Windows shortcuts, they should work properly from just about anywhere.
